President Stroger Joins Commissioner Maldonado at Three Kings Event at Stroger Hospital

CHICAGO, January 4, 2008 – County Board President Todd Stroger joined Cook County Commissioner Roberto Maldonado (D, 8th District) on January 4th at Commissioner Maldonado's annual Three Kings Day toy giveaway at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

The event celebrates Three Kings Day -- El Dia de los Reyes -- also known as the Twelfth Day of Christmas, and the Day of the Epiphany. The holiday is widely observed throughout Latin America, Hispanic cultures and the Spanish-speaking world.

“I applaud Commissioner Maldonado for his heartfelt generosity in bringing joy to the infirm patients in our children’s unit at Stroger Hospital for the past eight years,” said Stroger. “The happiness reflected in these children’s faces magnifies this wonderful season of giving.”
