County Employees Donate $6,000 to United Negro College Fund

–Chicago, June 4, 2007 - Cook County Board President Todd Stroger
met with Jann W. Honore, who serves as Area Development Director for
Illinois for the United Negro College Fund, to hand of a check for
$6,000 as part of County employees’ volunteer fundraising for the
nation’s historically Black colleges.
The UNCF is the nation's largest, oldest and most comprehensive
minority higher education assistance organization. UNCF provides
operating funds and technology enhancement services for 39 member
historically black colleges and universities, as well as scholarships
and internships for students at about 900 institutions and for faculty
and administrative professional training. Cook County employees have
been raising funds annually for the effort for over a decade.
