Application
Process
Posting
-
Posting is placed on the Employment Board and appropriate
facilities in addition to this internet site.
-
Applications are completed and submitted with all
requested (required) documentation to the Human Resources
office.
-
Application receipt is given to applicant.
-
After the closing date the applications then are transferred
to Examination and Selection Division for review.
Eligibility
Screening
- Approximately
six to eight (6-8) weeks from closing, applications
are entered into County Human Resource applicant tracking
system and reviewed to determine eligibility. Eligibility
is determined by meeting the minimum job requirements
per posting.
-
If eligible, the applicant status will reflect in
the tracking system to be processed for the next step.
If the applicant is not eligible (does not meet criteria/qualifications)
the application is coded in the system as such.
-
Once an application has been deemed eligible the following
will happen: 1) If testing is needed, the applicant
will be notified of testing dates. 2) If testing results
are satisfactory a code is then entered to the tracking
system to move the applicant to the next step.
- If
results are unsatisfactory, applicant is then inactivated
and coded to be no longer eligible for the position.
- After
all testing and additional screening criteria is met,
eligible applicants will then be placed on eligibility
list for the position. Being on the eligibility list
does not guarantee an interview.
NOTE: Included in the application
process are background checks and medical orientation.
- Upon
internal approval of the eligibility list, applicants
are referred out to the hiring department as needed.
In addition, they are referred out by date and time
that the application was processed by the front counter
(CCBHR).
Interviews/ Selection
- Once
the applicant is referred out to the hiring department’s,
it is then the hiring department’s responsibility
to schedule interviews for applicants and make hiring
decisions. Again, being on the eligibility list does
not guarantee an interview.
-
Once an applicant is selected and hired by the department
the application process ends until a new vacancy is
received by CCBHR.
-
If no eligible applicant is selected for hire, then
additional eligible applicants will be referred to
hiring department to be interviewed.
Applicants
must successfully pass each step
in the process in order to proceed to the next step.
