Your Committee on Real Estate and Business and
Economic Development of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County met pursuant
to notice on
Your Committee has considered the
following item and upon adoption of this report, the recommendation is as
follows:

REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT DIVISION,
by Raymond Muldoon, Director, transmitting a Communication, dated requesting authorization to have certain property declared
as “excess” by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, to conduct an
appraisal of the property and to negotiate with the Illinois Medical District
Commission (the “Commission”) for the sale of the property by Quit Claim
Deed. The interest of the Commission in this land is for the ability to
construct an addition to their building located at 600 S. Hoyne in The subject property consists of an irregular parcel of
vacant land located directly adjacent to the Illinois Medical District
Commission’s building at 600 It has been determined by all County departments agencies involved
that the subject property is no longer needed for County purposes and can be
released for sale. Approval recommended. |

Ray Muldoon, Director of Real Estate Management Division,
stated the following: I am requesting the authorization to have certain
property declared as “excess” located adjacent to the Medical Examiner’s
Office. The property was purchased in the 1980’s from the medical district to
construct a Medical Examiner facility.
The Illinois Medical Examiner wants to construct an addition to their
building.
Commissioner Peraica asked is the property .15 of an acre.
Mr. Muldoon replied in the affirmative.
Commissioner Peraica inquired as to the compensation.
Mr. Muldoon stated upon the completion of the appraisals and
negotiation of terms of sale, the transaction will be presented to the Board
for approval.
Commissioner
Schneider, seconded by Commissioner Gorman, moved the approval of Communication
No. 289294. The motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Schneider moved to
adjourn the meeting, seconded by Commissioner Peraica. The motion carried and the meeting was
adjourned.
