REPORT OF THE ELECTIONS SUBCOMMITTEE

Chairman Suffredin, Vice Chairman Silvestri, Commissioners Murphy, Peraica and Sims (5)

 

Absent:

Commissioner Beavers and Gorman (2)

Commissioners Collins, Daley, Goslin and Schneider; Brandon Neese - Deputy Cook County Clerk

 

 

Ladies and Gentlemen:

 

        Your Elections Subcommittee of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County met pursuant to notice on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the hour of 9:30 A.M. in the Board Room, Room 569, County Building, 118 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois.

 

        Your Subcommittee has considered the following items and upon adoption of this report, the recommendations are as follows:

ELECTION ASSESSMENT REPORT, by Larry Suffredin, Cook County Chairman, Committee of Legislation, Intergovernmental & Veterans Relations, transmitting a Communication, dated May 9, 2007:

 

submitting the April 17, 2007 Election Assessment Report prepared by the Cook County Clerk’s Election Division for referral to the Elections Subcommittee.

 

*  Referred to the Committee on Elections Subcommittee on 5/15/07.

 

Chairman Suffredin stated that a minor housekeeping matter regarding the notice for this meeting needed to be corrected.  He pointed out that the notice listed the incorrect members of the Elections Subcommittee.  However, the roll call taken at the beginning of this meeting included the correct membership of the subcommittee.

 

Chairman Suffredin introduced Brandon Neese, Deputy County Clerk.

 

Mr. Neese provided a summary of the County Clerk’s April 17, 2007 Election Assessment Report (see Attachment #1) previously distributed to the Board.

 

Vice Chairman Silvestri, seconded by Commissioner Murphy, moved to Receive and File  Communication No. 286845. The motion carried.

 

Vice Chairman Silvestri moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Commissioner Murphy.  The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.
