This month "A LOOK INSIDE COOK COUNTY", focuses
on the recently approved re-entry ordinance for ex-offenders.
The County Board recently passed the re-entry employment
program as a County ordinance, and also approved more
than $9 million in grants to local agencies through
POET – the President’s Office of Employment
Training – designed to connect jobseekers with
employers and training to enhance their competitiveness
in the workforce. We also highlight the Construction
trade programs at Dawson Technical Institute that are
funded by POET and the recent prestigious Henry B. Betts
honor, awarded to POET for working with the disabled.
