The Department of Building & Zoning allows building permit applicants to view the status of their application at any time online. You will need your Building Permit application number as well as the property's Property Index Number (PIN) to view the status information.

Effective July 13, 2009 Cook County Building and Zoning allows Building, Plumbing, and Electrical permit applicants to pay the permit fee
utilizing a Mastercard, Discover or American Express card.
There is a nominal convenience fee assessed by Illinois E-Pay. See convenience fee schedule.
